Password Scams
I'm sorry. I think I've made a very BIG mistake .Due to my ignorance I've help to spread another password scams. And this time it's from fanbox.com, which is a new incarnation of sms.ac. Read more about it written by The SpamHuntress here, sms.ac abuse.
Let me start from the top. Last night I received an email from fanbox.com, supposedly sent by a friend of mine, Ariffshah. It was a simple email, telling me that Ariffshah has asked me a question! Well, it got me curious (just hope I shall not end up like the cat, eh) and clicked on the link to view the question.
It looked like another social network site like LinkedIn, Plaxo, Facebook, MySpace, and so on. That's why I didn't give much thought about it. Like an idiot I just followed what it told me to do, including giving out my Yahoo's username and password!

When I woke up this morning, I got a big surprise after opening up my PC. Usually the first thing that I do after opening up my PC was to see my blogs. I was surprise that I got a new post, 'Welcome to FanBox' on My Journey To Recovery. As far as I'm concerned the last post that I did was for ReviewMe. When did I created this post?

I got quite mad when I realized fanbox.com was responsible for all these. When did I gave out my mail-to-blogger address? This password is suppose to be secret and I used it to post text and images (up to 10MB in size) directly to my blogs.
This is too much. Immediately I canceled my membership with FanBox.com, changed my mail-to-blogger address and changed my Yahoo's username and password. I don't want to get involve with FanBox.com anymore!
I couldn't blame Ariffshah either. Just like me, maybe he thought fanbox.com was another social networking site. I guess by now, fanbox.com has sent emails to those listed on my contact list. Before I'm off, I would like to take this opportunity again to please forgive me if you received an email from FanBox.com with my email's address. I know I'm bad. Please forgive me.

"It never fails to amaze me at how many scams there are out there. They get more and more clever all the time at hooking you.
It sure would be nice if everyone could just be honest!
